Culture, as defined by Craig Storti in The Art of Crossing Cultures, is a system of beliefs and values that influence people's behaviors. It is these culturally based behaviors that manufacturers who employ a Latino workforce need to better understand in order to maintain productivity. The efficiency and profitability of a multicultural manufacturing company can be greatly undermined by either inaccurate communication due to a lack of a common language or a misunderstanding of employee cultural differences.

Having spent 10 years training on the manufacturing floor with large and small companies, Mary Lynn Bennett provides customized cross cultural and workplace productivity language training in both Spanish and English to increase productivity on the factory floor and continuing into the Corporate Boardroom.

Cross cultural training, as presented in Spanish by Bilingual Skills Services LLC, prepares Latino employees to understand and work within the mainstream American or Anglo, manufacturing culture. Working in another culture presents both behavior and language problems that affect productivity. The immigrant Latino, even one who is comfortable speaking English, may struggle with Anglo behaviors and ways of problem solving. Not all productivity issues can be solved with English classes.
